PresentDay Privacy Policy
Effective 12 June 2026The short version: The developer doesn't have access to your data. Your gift ideas live on your device and in your iCloud account unless you export them. There are no other servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no ads. What the app stores, and where
Everything you add - people, birthdays, gift ideas, photos, notes - is stored in the app's private database on your device. If you share your list with a partner, that data syncs through Apple's iCloud servers using your own Apple Account; it travels between you, Apple, and the person you invited - never through the developer.Contacts
If you allow Contacts access, PresentDay reads names, birthdays, and contact photos solely so you can pick people to keep gift ideas for. Only the people you explicitly select are saved into the app. Nothing is written back to Contacts and nothing is uploaded anywhere. Contacts access is optional - you can add everyone manually.Camera and photos
Photos you take or pick for gift ideas are stored in the app's data on your device and in your iCloud. The app uses the system photo picker, which doesn't require access to your photo library.AI gift suggestions
On devices with Apple Intelligence, "Get Ideas" runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device foundation models - the details used to generate suggestions (interests, past gifts) never leave your phone. On devices without Apple Intelligence, tapping the search button instead opens a Google search in your browser, built from the person's age, relationship, interests, dislikes, and the gift ideas already on their list, plus the options you chose - never their name or your notes. That search is handled by Google under Google's own privacy policy, exactly as if you had typed it yourself.Link previews
When you attach a product link to a gift idea, your device fetches that web page directly to fill in the title, price, and image - the same as opening it in a browser. No intermediary server is involved.Notifications
Birthday and important-date reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. They're off by default. What PresentDay doesn't do
- There are no accounts, sign-ins, or profiles
- No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs - no tracking of any kind
- No third-party libraries at allDeleting your data
Settings → Data → Delete All Data permanently removes everything, including ending any iCloud sharing you started. Deleting the app removes its on-device data. Backup files you exported are ordinary files under your control.Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date above.ContactQuestions? Email [email protected]
